National football team head coach Flemming Serritslev has rated southern rivals and neighbours Suva and Rewa as the teams to beat at the 2020 Vodafone Fiji FACT which continues at Subrail Park in Labasa today.
Serritslev said it was an excellent start by both the teams in the first round of games played last week at the ANZ Stadium in Laucala Bay, Suva.
“I was quite impressed with the performance of Rewa and Suva,” he said. “Both the teams playing styles are almost similar, which focuses more on an attacking style of football to create chances and score goals.
They were patient in their buildups and held on to possession for a longer period of time.” He had predicted northerners Labasa as his favourite to win the tournament.
“Before the first games were played, I was tipping Labasa to win the tournament. “Now, they are really under pressure, especially as hosts also and with a big defeat recorded against Rewa in the first round.
They have to win both their remaining games to have any chance of progressing further.
“It will be a very exciting tournament and am happy that I will be able to watch all the national squad members in action plus scout for new talents at the same time.”
Nadi is the defending champion.
