Fiji rugby fans now have a chance to watch one of the best rugby competitions in the world, the Top 14.

Thanks to Digicel, the France-based annual competition, regarded as the toughest and most competitive club event in the world, will have weekly telecast on Sky Pacific starting on Sunday, September 5.

Top 14 is widely regarded as the best and most competitive domestic rugby competition across Europe, Digicel said in a statement yesterday.

“Sky Pacific will show up to four matches every match-week starting from the opening round on Sunday, September 5,” said Digicel CEO Farid Mohammed.

“Sky Pacific is delighted to bring even more world-class live rugby to its channels for sports fans. France’s Top 14 is renowned throughout the world as one of the most intense club rugby competitions showcasing the world’s best players including a host of Flying Fijians.

“Sky Pacific viewers will now be able to tune-in weekly and watch a selection of four live matches plus all the final matches as teams battle it out for TOP 14 title and to lift the Brennus Shield.”

Fans can now expect to watch some of Fiji’s best players such as Flying Fijians’ Josua Tuisova, Waisea Nayacalevu, Peceli Yato, Levani Botia, Tevita Ratuva and Ben Volavola and 2020 Olympic Games gold medallist Jiuta Wainiqolo teaming up with Toulon alongside towering Leone Nakarawa on TV wecery week.

Other players could include Rio 2016 Olympic Games gold medallist Masivesi Dakuwaqa who will play for Montpellier this season and a host of internationals such as Cheslin Kolbe, Ngani Laumape, Lima Sopoaga.

The Top 14 starts on Sunday at 4am with Stade Francais playing Racing 92 and at 7am Toulon is scheduled to meet Montpellier. On Monday, September 6 at 3.40am Lyon meet Clermont Auvergne while La Rochelle faces Toulouse at 7am.

The Top 14 will end the finals on June 24 – 25. Digicel encourages customers to sign up or reconnect for free well in advance to enjoy the matches to avoid any disappointment.
