The Fiji men’s 7s side had a few anxious moments in their 28-14 win over Canada in their second match at the Tokyo Olympics today.

Two early tries from Napolioni Bolaca and Jiuta Wainiqolo saw Fiji cruising to a 14-nil lead.

Canada replied with a try just before the break to close the scores to 14-7 at half-time.

Fiji had a shaky start to the second spell but managed a try to substitute Aminiasi Tuimaba to extend the lead to 21-7.

Canada replied instantly and were right back into the game, 21-7 heading into the last minute.

Asaeli Tuivuaka scored a try.after the final hooter for the win.

Despite two wins on day, the Gareth Baber coached side is yet to perform anywhere near to their best.

The team may have to step up a gear if they are to beat Great Britain in their last pool match tomorrow.

Fiji plays Great Britain at 12.20pm tomorrow.
