THE Eastern Division Police Wives volleyball team received a shot in the arm as they prepare for the Fiji Police Wives Volleyball Tournament.
The tournament will be held on the Fiji Day weekend in Lautoka and last week, East West Taxi and Tours donated a new set of uniforms to the team.
Former Suva rep Jona Robanakadavu, managing director of the taxi company, handed over the new set of uniforms to the team at their Divisional Police Commander’s office in Nausori.
Inspector in charge of Nausori Police Station Kasiano Vusonilawe said the team had been preparing well for the competition and they were delighted when they received the new uniforms.
“During the volleyball competition last year, the Eastern Division Police Wives won the most disciplined team award and they also reached the semi-finals of the main competition,” he said.
“This year, they started their preparation early and would be trying their best to bring the title back to the East.
“The sponsorship from the taxi company was a huge boost to the team and the Wives are eager to compete in the tournament.
Last year, a total of 29 teams from seven divisions participated in the tournament at the Police Ready Action Unit in Makoi.
This year, organisers have moved the tournament to Lautoka and it will be played on October 10 and 11.
