Three-day snooker battle

THE North West Billiards and Snooker Association will host a corporate championship next month.
The two-day event will feature 32 teams made up of three players each.
The association’s president, Suresh Chauhan, said the idea was to get the business houses involved in the sport.
He said it would be a three-player team event.
“Each team will need to field at least one B Grade or a novice player,” Chauhan said.
“A total of 32 teams will be accepted which means 96 players. Phil’s Autoport has come on board as the major sponsor.
“We expect teams from Nausori, Suva, Sigatoka, Nadi, Ba, Tavua and Lautoka to participate. Only two A Grade players will be allowed in one team. This is a new concept that we are introducing.”
The association will start its snooker league after this championship.
