The importance of a shopping list

WHEN you make a list before going to the grocery store, you’re likely to spend less on impulse purchases and stick to the aisles that have the foods you are looking for.
Jolame Cagi believes a shopping list discourages shoppers from impulsive buying.
Originally from Daku Village in Tailevu with maternal links to Yaroi Village in Savusavu, Cagi has three brothers and two sisters.
Born and bred in Navua Town his family moved to Suva in 1996 after his father Tomasi Delana a retired police officer was transferred to Valelevu Police Station. Cagi is a television producer at the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) whose role is to oversee all aspects of video production on a television program ensuring that all programs stay on schedule.
He is also the producer of a local iTaukei financial literacy show called Noda i Lavo.
“Before I came to this line of work I was pretty much involved in the entertainment industry,” Cagi said. “I was one of the founding members of the Malaga Singers now Pasifika Voices and through this amazingly talented choir, I got involved in opera productions, theatre performances, movies, pageants, concerts, adverts and many other small gigs both locally and overseas.”
He said dancing played a huge role in keeping him fit and healthy however, he said most workouts he did today was his morning walks from the bus stand to work and the walk back after work.
“Sometimes I walk with friends in the weekend but that was it. Lately I’ve started my dance workouts at home so I’m picking up slowly.”
When it comes to shopping he said his family preferred to shop at Shop N Save Supermarket and RB Patel.
In this week’s shopper Cagi is privileged to share his shopping experience with our readers.
