THE Kaiviti Silktails’ preparation towards the New South Wales Rugby League Ron Massey Cup will continue with friendly matches to test the team’s mechanics next month against the Papua New Guinea-based franchise Lae Snax Tigers rugby league club.

Pacific Games gold medal winning Fiji Bati 9s coach Vulaono Dakuitoga has confirmed a number of friendlies in store for the Silktails to begin next month.

“The Silktails will play a series of Tests with PNG based Lae Snax Tigers club which prop forward and Kaiviti Silktails squad member Tikiko Noke plays for,” Dakuitoga said.

“Not just them but also against two local teams with handpicked players from within the clubs participating in the Vodafone Cup,”he said.

The two local teams to test the Silktails will be formed along the eastern and western conference based teams. Dakuitoga will coach the eastern conference team.

“It will be a good hit out for the Silktails after weeks of training I know they will be eager to test themselves.”

Dakuitoga said he hoped the tests would produce some areas for the Silktails to iron out their weaknesses.
