Test time

FIJI’s top sprinter Aaron Powell believes the 2018 Commonwealth Games was a big learning curve for him.

Powell ran in the 100 metres, 200m, 4x100m and 4x400m at the athletics competition held at Carrara Stadium in Gold Coast, Australia.

“It was a tough competition,” he said.

“However, one needs to put in a lot of work and learn new things in the competition and put them in your

training so it will help you to become a better athlete.

“I gave my best for my country.”

Powell said competing against the top athletes was a new experience for him.

“We had competed against the world’s best and that should be a key point since we know where we stand in our athletics career,” he said.

“I will go back home and start from the basics again since I have to work hard and be more competitive.”

Team Fiji arrived home yesterday.
