THE annual Easter Open Tennis Championship has been postponed to a later date.
The opening three days of the tournament was washed out at the Regional Tennis Centre in Lautoka because of the adverse weather. Despite the weather clearing yesterday, the organisers decided to postpone the WG Genera Pacific Limited-sponsored event.
Tennis Fiji secretary Sachin Reddy said they could not complete any event in one day because of the high number of entries. Reddy said it was unfortunate that the players from overseas couldn’t get a hit off. Reddy said the next major event would be the West Pacific qualifying tournament at the end of the month.
