Tekiate set to play

VODAFONE Fiji Football Association captain Remuera Tekiate’s inclusion in the Suva team is a big boost against Lautoka today, says Suva president Ritesh Pratap.

Tekiate moved from Ba to the Capital City in the past player transfer window.

He will make his debut for Suva in the Vodafone Premier League match against Lautoka in a match dubbed as the “battle of the cities” at Churchill Park in Lautoka today.

“Tekiate will play his first match for Suva on Sunday after he was cleared by Fiji Football Association,” he said.

“We are blessed to have his services to the team. He is one of the quality players in the country and has a lot of experience to guide the defence.

“I believe with his inclusion along with goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau we will have a solid defence.”

Pratap said it would be a big challenge to play Lautoka.

“We know what Lautoka is capable of with the number of good players and expert coaching staff they have got in the team,” he said.

“The players have been reminded what is expected from them and I want them to deliver their best towards the team and for the fans.”

The match kicks off at 3pm.
