THE National Development Plan consultations moved to Raralevu Village yesterday with 30 residents communicating their concerns on water, health and road issues to a consultation team.
By Saturday last week, the consultation teams have covered 224 meetings for the Central Division with 5000 people attending. Raralevu Women’s Group president Mere Halaiwalu, 69, said the village was in need of a dispensary to cater for a population of 790.
She explained the nearest dispensary was in Nausori where there was always a long wait for villagers to receive treatment.
Mrs Halaiwalu said tarsealed road was also needed to ease travel to town and nearby areas. Her husband, the Roko Tui Namata Ratu Paula Halaiwalu said they were grateful to the consultation team for visiting the village and giving them an opportunity to have a one-on-one with Government officials.
Ratu Paula said the consultations were of national importance and should be given priority by villagers.
