Team Fiji’s Special Olympic returns with 17 medals

THE 35-member Fiji contingent which participated at the Special Olympics World Games in Dubai were hosted to breakfast by sponsors Digicel and the Westin Denarau Resort and Spa in Nadi today.

Fiji won a total of 17 medals claiming seven gold, four silver and six bronze.

In a remarkable achievement, Fiji was the best-performing country from the Pacific finishing ahead of New Zealand on the medal tally.

Digicel Fiji acting CEO Charlotte Taylor said they were thrilled to welcome the team.

“We would like to thank the Westin Denarau for hosting the breakfast,” Taylor said.

“Team Fiji has made us proud.”
