GOOD news today for members of the Vanua XV rugby team.

Travel documents were all cleared yesterday meaning all access had been given the greenlight by authorities for the two-match tour to New Zealand.

“All visa applications have been cleared and the players are ready to go,” said Vodafone Vanua XV team manager Maika Waqavatu. The Fiji Rugby Union with the Vanua XV management have all travel documents finalised and await the final squad announcement today.

“We will be taking a squad of 26 players and five officials.”

Vodafone Vanua XV head coach Inoke Male said the final squad would be named after the last buildup game today against the Army rugby team.

“It will be their second buildup match after playing the Police last weekend in the curtain-raiser before the National Rugby Championship semi-final between the Fiji Airways Drua and the Canberra Vikings at Churchill Park, Lautoka.

“Last week’s game against Police was a good wake-up call for the players as they were playing their first game together as a team.”
