Tea USA dominates Pan Pacific swimming championship

TEAM USA dominated the 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships at the Damodar City Aquatic Centre in Laucala Bay, Suva last night.

The side bagged 27 gold medals, 19 silver and eight bronze in the championships.

Australia finished second with four gold, five silver and four bronze medals while Canada settled for third place with two gold, four silver and six bronze medals.

Meanwhile, Fijian swimmers failed to win medals.

Head coach Sharon Pickering-Smith said there were a lot of positives taken out from the competition.

She said the experience would help them improve their performance in future competitions, particularly the 2019 Pacific Games which will be held in Samoa.
