TD13F develops into Tropical Cyclone Keni

Update: 11:27AM TROPICAL Depression 13F has developed into a tropical cyclone and has been christened Keni.
TC Keni, a Category 1 storm, was located about 800 kilometres West-northwest of Nadi and 800 kilometres West of Yasawa-i-Rara at 12am today.
It is currently moving North at 9 km/hr.
Fiji Meteorological Service director Ravindra Kumar said the system was doing a loop before it would begin a South-easterly track towards Fiji.
TC Keni is expected to track South-eastwards in the next 12 hours and intensify further as it moves towards Fiji.
Meanwhile, an active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving over Fiji.
“On this track, TC Keni continues to intensify. It may bring damaging gale force winds over the Western Division by tonight, and early Tuesday over Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, the rest of Viti Levu, Lomaiviti and Southern Lau group,” Mr Kumar said.
