TD04F: Heavy rain alert for the group

A HEAVY rain alert is now in force for Western half of Vanua Levu, Yasawa and Mamanuca group and the Western half of Viti Levu.

The Fiji Meteorological Department has issued the warning as TD04F moves towards the group.

TD04F lies to the far Northwest of Fiji.

“The associated active rain bands are expected to affect the group from tomorrow,” said a Fiji Met release.

The forecast for Western half of Vanua Levu is for cloudy periods with showers expected to increase to rain and become frequent and heavy with squally thunderstorms from tomorrow.

“Yasawa and Mamanuca group and the Western half of Viti Levu can expect cloudy periods with isolated afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms

Showers will become frequent and increase to rain with squally thunderstorms from tomorrow in these areas.
