TC Yasa: Traffic signals in Nadi shut down to prevent damage

Members of the public are advised that the traffic signals in Nadi Central Business District, Nawaka and Narewa has been shut down to prevent the controller from getting damaged due to TC Yasa.

According to the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA), the following traffic signals have been shut down:

– Raniga Street/Hospital Road intersection

-Post Office Road/Hospital Road intersection

– Main Street/Hospital Road intersection

– FNPF Midblock

– ANZ midblock

– Nawaka (Nadi College Road/Nadi Back Road intersection)

– Narewa intersection

“Also note, due to safety reasons, we have removed the portable traffic lights that were installed at the Sawani slip on Princes Road,” the FRA said.

“We have arranged for signs to guide the motorists for the duration of the cyclone period.”

“We are urging the public to exercise extreme caution on our roads, avoid speeding, be courteous, and always keep a safe following distance.
