TC Yasa: Strong winds begin to weaken in Gunu Village

The extreme and strong winds experienced by Gunu villagers on the island of Naviti in the Yasawa Group this morning is beginning to die out.

Gunu villager Jone Ratuvuki who spoke to Fiji Times Online said as of now, the situation was that the winds were beginning to die out.

He said it was not like what they had experienced in the morning.

Mr Ratuvuki said there was no report of casualty or any damage to the houses except for their crops.

He said the only thing that was severely damaged were their crops.

Meanwhile, Mr Ratuvuki said the village had approximately 60 families and most families were being billeted at the Gaunavou Primary School.
