A SCHOOL teacher of Nuku Secondary School in Serua and his daughter are still missing after reports received they were swept away by strong currents yesterday afternoon.
According to Police, the two were trying to cross the Wainikavou creek in Serua when the alleged incident occurred.
“The matter was reported at the Navua Police Station by the head of the school following a quick search conducted by villagers and teachers of the same school,” Police said.
“Police Search and Rescue team found it difficult to reach the area due to flooding and also the Tubarua bridge in Nuku is underwater.”
Meanwhile, members of the public are urged to remain alert and vigilant and take advisories from relevant authorities seriously in times of disaster.
