Bus services and business operations have resumed in Labasa and Savusavu towns.
Acting Commissioner Northern Uraia Rainima also praised members of the public for working with police and his team in vacating the towns when advised on Friday morning.
“Although there were some who didn’t abide, we are happy that most did obey the advice and it’s for their own safety,” Mr Rainima said.
“Business is back to normal but we are still monitoring the situation.”
