FLIGHTS to Tonga, Vanua Levu and Rotuma were cancelled yesterday with more suspended today by national airline Fiji Airways.

A total of 11 flights were grounded yesterday while one international flight was brought forward as Tropical Cyclone Tino approached the Fiji Group yesterday.

In its second travel advisory this week, the national airline confirmed flights from Suva and Nadi to Rotuma, Savusavu, Taveuni, Labasa and Nuku’alofa were cancelled.

The airline also cancelled flights to Vavau in Tonga and to the Lau Group where TC Tino was expected to intensify into a Category 2 cyclone.

“Fiji Airways and Fiji Link continue to assess adverse weather conditions associated with Tropical Cyclone Tino,” the airline stated.
