TC Keni: Now a category 3 cyclone

Update: 10:05AM TROPICAL Cyclone Keni is now of category 3 strength and is moving East-southeast at about 10 knots as it gets stronger.

The National Emergency Operation Centre for TC Keni confirmed this after 7am today in its situation report number 13 (sitrep13).

According to the sitrep13, an active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving over Fiji.

“A storm warning is now in force for Southwest Viti Levu from Nadi through Sigatoka to Coral Coast. A Gale Warning remains in force for the rest of Viti Levu, Yasawa and Mamanuca Group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands,” sitrep13 said.

“A tropical cyclone alert remains in force for Lomaiviti and Southern Lau group.”
