TC Keni: Ba market vendors relocate produce
9 April, 2018, 4:28 pm
Update: 4:28PM THE water level at Elevuka Creek in Ba is rising, forcing market vendors to relocate once again.
Just days after the National Fire Authority cleaned out silt, mud, and debris from the Ba Municipal Market, the threat of a repeat of last week’s flooding is imminent.
Ba Market Vendors Association president Nitesh Prasad said with the heavy rain experienced today, vendors had moved all their produce and valuables to higher ground.
“Nobody wants to take any chances after going through two floods already this week and Tropical Cyclone Keni on its way,” Mr Prasad said.
