TC Gita: Hurricane warning remains for Conway Reef

Update: 1:46PM A HURRICANE warning remains in force for Conway reef or Ceva-i-Ra reef in the western part of Fiji.
According to the special weather bulletin issued by the Regional Specialised Meteorological Centre (RSMC) in Nadi at midday today, Severe Tropical Cyclone Gita centre 950hpa category 4 was located about 20nautical miles North-northwest of Conway reef at 11:30am today.
For Conway reef: expect winds of hurricane force and phenomenal seas within 50 nautical miles of centre; storm force winds and very high seas out to about 80nautical miles from centre, gale force winds and high seas out to about 180nautical miles of centre.
For Fiji waters: northerly winds 20 to 30 knots, gusting to 40 knots, rough to very rough seas and moderate to heavy swells.
The next special marine bulletin for Conway reef on TC Gita will be issued at 3pm later today.
