The Tavua Town Council has identified a potential site for its new rubbish dump.
The town does not have any dump site at present and uses the dump at Naria in Rakiraki.
Previously, it used the dump site in Ba.
Tavua Town Council CEO Sailosi Sawana told the Standing Committee on Public Accounts Committee on Thursday that the identified piece of land was located some 20 minutes from town, inland of Rabulu Village.
“We’re currently doing an evaluation on the site and we will need to determine the cost that we can negotiate with the landowner,” Mr Sawana said.
