The first Fiji Bitter Nahehevia 7s tournament at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka this weekend proved to be a huge success.

This despite the difficulties of staging a first tournament by the distict of Nahehevia in Nadroga.

Fiji Bitter Nahehevia 7s tournament director Alekisada Taletawa said they faced some challenges in hosting their first event.

Taletawa says they will continue to produce young talents from their district.

“We have six villages in our tikina. This is one tournament that we started off and wish to continue for the development of people in our area.

“We are grateful to Paradise Beverages for sponsoring the tournament. There are a lot of things that need to be fixed up in our area. We are starting off with refurbishing the staff quarters at the schools. We are also looking at doing up the water pipes to the houses and the pathway. Paradise Beverages continues to help in grassroots development which is very good for the sport in the country.”
