OPPOSITION Whip Lynda Tabuya has personally acknowledged donors who contributed to the GoFundMe Campaign for former parliament employee Iliesa Raiduduva.

Mr Raiduduva, who was accused by the Secretary-General of Parliament of leaking the video of Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama allegedly manhandling Opposition MP Pio Tikoduaudua outside Parliament on August 9, 2019, was asked to resign on humanitarian grounds.

“I want to personally thank the kind donors who gave to the GoFundMe Campaign to raise $8200 for Iliesa and his family,” Ms Tabuya said.

“This was despite bad-hearted people trying to stop a genuine cause by reporting to GoFundMe that I was fundraising for myself.”

Ms Tabuya handed overthe funds to Mr Raiduduva yesterday after three months of delays.

She said those funds would greatly help Mr Raiduduva’s family expenses, especially to care for his sick mother and his small farm and market produce.

“God bless you Iliesa and family,” she said.

“And I want to say to those bad-hearted people – good will always triumph over evil and the truth will always prevail.”
