Sydney 7s: Fiji makes a good start

Update: 12:24PM THE Vodafone Fiji sevens side made a good start at the Sydney 7s in Australia after defeating Samoa 31-0 in their first pool match.

It took the Fijians almost two minutes before Savenaca Rawaca crossed over for the first try followed by two tries to Jerry Tuwai.

Fiji led the Samoans 19-0 at half time.

As the second half started, Apisai Domolailai crossed over for a try and captain Osea Kolinisau got one in the dying stages of the match.

Fiji will play France at 3.18pm and Argentina at 7.21pm today.
