COACH Kamal Swamy will be out to earn his first Pacific Cup title with Lautoka in New Zealand.
Swamy has previously guided Nadi to three of their four title victories in the competition.
Lautoka, which won the Courts Inter District Championship premier division, heads into the tournament as the favourites.
With players such as Zibraaz Sahib, Dave Radrigai, Benaminio Mateinaqara, Samuela Drudru and Senirusi Bokini, a lot is expected from the Blues.
Swamy said the four best teams from Fiji were participating in the tournament.
“They have all performed well this year,” he said.
“There will be pressure on us having won the Courts Inter District Championship last month. The overseas teams are getting stronger each year.
“Lautoka hasn’t won the Pacific Cup but I have won it three times with Nadi. The team has played a few warm-up matches especially the national side. The players are fighting for a spot in the starting line-up. This is our preparation for the 2018 Oceania Champions League.”
