THE capital city was today the place to be today as Fijians fans made sure they made their presence felt before the Rugby World Cup begins in Japan tonight.

The working public chose to wear blue, taxis waved Fijian flags while shop owners made sure they were not left behind and nearly every shop in the city had a Fijian flag to show its support.

Not only that, people were seen with Walesi antennas as the last minute rush to get the TV set sorted was quite clear.

A few electronic companies The Fiji Times Online visited ran out of Walesi antennas as but shop owners were full smiles, a sign that it was a good day of sales.

Rugby fans will come to a standstill when the clock hits 4.45pm tomorrow.

This is when our gladiators run of the tunnel at Sapporo Stadium in Japan to face the Wallabies in its opening match of the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
