Suva gears up for volleyball event

Preparation for the Hot Bread Kitchen Vulaca Championship has been intense for the Suva Volleyball Association.

Team official Jone Baleilomaloma said their final four teams’ training had been intense.

“We have set our criteria and standard towards the national level and we want our players to adhere to those criteria which they have done,” he said.

“Preparation has been intense considering that this is the first sanctioned tournament for the Fiji Volleyball Federation.

“All hands are on deck with team bonding, team support mentally and physically.

“We are all looking forward to the competition.

“We know teams will be coming in strong and we will be expecting tough competition.”

Meanwhile, Savura and Police both won the SVA round one tournament at the LICI Courts in Laucala Bay, Suva on Saturday.

The championship will be held on February 3-4 at the FMF Gymnasium in Laucala Bay, Suva.
