THE Suva Football Association struck a unique deal yesterday that will cater for family and football during the 2018 Courts Inter-District Championship (IDC).

This was after receiving a timely $10,000 sponsorship deal which would be used for Suva players’ welfare.

The sponsorship came from Walu Bay-based Lincoln Refrigeration Ltd.

The company’s human resources manager, Ganesh Narayan, believes player welfare was paramount.

This means that while the players fight for Suva to win the coveted football prize, the deal will take care of some needs of their families. Less teams in the country are doing that – thinking of players’ families. “Our company believes in supporting the district, and giving back to the people of Suva,” Narayan said.

“We have supported all the districts to ensure that Fiji football strives together as a nation.”

Association president Ritesh Pratap thanked Lincoln Refrigeration for the timely aid and ensured it would be used to its full potential.

“We thank the managing director Praveen Singh for coming onboard. This is the first time we have an external sponsor supporting us,” Pratap said.

“Looking after the welfare of our players will ensure Suva football is able to produce quality football. This sponsorship will be a great aid for the players and their families to see to their needs and provide for them during the tournament.”

Lincoln Refrigeration Suva meets Nadi at 6pm tomorrow.
