Suva Eagles in top spot

THE Suva Eagles premier team maintains its lead in the Vodafone Inter Zone competition after the sixth round.

The Eagles have been undefeated since the first round of inter zone.

Head coach Viliame Tukana said the team’s success in the inter zone competition was because of the player’s determination and their focus to represent Fiji in future.

“It all comes down to the team’s determination and desire to prove to a point that they as players are also Fiji Residents and Fiji Bati material who deserve recognition from the FNRL selectors.

“It is the burning desire in these players to be given a chance from the FNRL selectors have been the platform which results in success for this Suva Eagles team” said Tukana.

The Suva Eagles team is made up of local club representatives from the clubs in Suva such as Nabua Broncos, Police Sharks, Topline Warriors, Wailada Rabbitohs, City Storm and Lami Steelers.

Despite the Eagles being undefeated, the Suva team still respects their opponents in every match.

“All teams in the inter zone competitions are champions in their own right and we respect each one of them, we treat every team as champion and at the same time Suva Eagles will want to prove that also” said Tukana.

Since the team are from different clubs, they train twice a week.

The Suva Eagles team hopes to win the newly introduced inter zone competition.
