The Fiji Times letter of the year award was presented to Julie Sutherland at Prouds, Damodar City today.

Ms Sutherland wrote a letter titled “No Ribbons for Victims” in The Fiji Times on November 3 last year, which won her the award.

She said the award came as a surprise for her.

“I couldn’t believe that I was getting awarded and I’m excited to be considered for it as I write as often as I can which is probably a letter a week,” she said.
