SUSTAINABLE Fiji, over the course of 2017, assisted and educated villagers on building cyclone-resistant homes.
Executive director Philip Mirkin said work they had carried out also included delivering medical supplies to different parts of the country.
“In June we worked with the Ministry of Health to locate which hospitals to deliver over $90,000 worth of medical supplies,” said Mr Mirkin.
“We delivered to Nacula, Vuaki, Tavakubu and delivered surgical supplies to Ba Mission Hospital and Lautoka Hospital.”
Apart from this, Mr Mirkin said they made small donations to villagers of Levuka and Ovalau.
Mr Mirkin said the Fiji Institute of Sustainable Habitats was created in 2009 at the Fiji Organic Village near Vuaki Village in Yasawa in 2009.
