Suspect opts for Legal Aid representation

A man charged with the murder of a New Zealand national last year has opted for Legal Aid representation for his matter.

Rusiate Sogotubu Raiwalui, 32, appeared before judge Justice Daniel Goundar yesterday accused of the murder of Ashkan Rikthegazader who was found dead with multiple stab wounds outside the CWM hospital in Suva on May 8.

He is also charged with unlawful possession of illicit drugs and pleaded not guilty to both charges.

He was further remanded and the case was adjourned to June 15.
