The suspect in the death of a 17-year-old teenager was captured yesterday at his family house in Rakiraki.

A relative who spoke to this newspaper on the condition of anonymity said family members assisted in handing over the 32-year-old to police.

He was alleged to have killed the student on Friday night and fled to Rakiraki.

The incident happened at a house in Makoi where the teenager’s body was found by a member of the household.

In response to queries from this newspaper about the suspect, police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said yesterday that “investigations were ongoing”.
