A survey conducted by Government has revealed that 65 per cent of workers in the informal sector are earning more than $2.90 an hour, says Employment Minister Parveen Kumar.
He made the comment during a ministerial statement on national minimum wages formation and implementation under the Employment Relations Act 2007.
Mr Kumar also said about 31 per cent were earning $4 an hour.
“This survey shows that over 96 percent of Fijian workers currently earn above the minimum wage rate,” he said.
