THE Republic of Fiji Military Forces development rugby team reclaimed the 2019 Sukuna Bowl challenge trophy after beating the Fiji Police Force in a thriller 15-13 encounter at the ANZ Stadium in Suva today.

“We dug deep,” said Army skipper Apenisa Uluiviti.

He said despite trailing in most parts of the game, their boys kept their composure.

Falling behind Police towards the tail-end of the second half by 13-6, three late penalities from Army flyhalf Douglas Daveta saw the men in green reclaim the title lost in 2017.

Uluiviti dedicated the win to their families and to all members of the RFMF who were serving in overseas missions.

“We thank our families for always being in our corner.

“And to our comrades in the RFMF serving in peacekeeping missions overseas, this win is for you.”
