STUDENTS of Penang Sangam High School from Rakiraki braved the early morning trip yesterday to attend the University of the South Pacific Open Day at Laucala campus.
The students, more than 100 of them, took advantage of the opportunity to educate themselves on the opportunities available at the university.
This, schoolteacher Radhika Narayan said, was the aim of the field trip.
“It is a grand opportunity for our students because this is their last year in high school.
“They can come see for themselves the opportunities available at USP and the options they can take.”
Ms Narayan said distance was never a problem for them as Penang Sangam had been regularly attending past USP open days.
“The students paid their own bus fares and the school met the rest of the expenses,” she said.
