DOZENS of students along the Nasinu area chose to stay for another hour at the Valelevu bus shelter and even lined up the streets along Daniva and Nasole roads to catch a glimpse of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The slight drizzle that was experienced minutes before the arrival of the royal couple failed to dampen the spirits of hundreds of Fijian citizens who live along the Valelevu corridor.

Saula Nadiva, a student of Gospel Primary School in Nasinu, said he had informed his parents that he was going to reach home after 5pm yesterday.

“My friend and I planned to stay back because we’ve watched videos of Prince Harry online and we’ve always wanted to see him,” Nadiva said.

“But today even if we don’t get to talk to him we are still excited because we managed to see him from a distance.”

It was a momentous event for Fijian families who live along the Nasinu area as they smiled and waved to show their love for the newlywed royals.
