Student e-Transport cards will be deactivated during the holidays

Listen to this article:

PARENTS and students are advised that blue subsidised student e-Transport cards will not work during non-school periods like holidays.

This was confirmed in a Government statement today and it stated that it was committed to ensuring all Fijian children accessed free education, tuition, textbooks and bus fare to remove all obstacles.

However, it further stated that it was unfortunate that many parents were using their child’s blue subsidised student cards for everyday travel.

“You will no longer be able to use or top up your blue student e-Transport cards when school ends on November 23 this year,” the Government stated.

“The remaining balance will carry forward to the next school term starting January 13, 2020.

“Students can get a yellow or red e-Transport card from their nearest Vodafone outlet to use during non-school periods.”
