NEW Zealanders saw a new side of the Fiji Airways Fiji 7s players yesterday when they sang the hymn “oqo na noqu masu” during their school visitation at the Woodstock Primary School in Hamilton.
The team visited the school and had a rest day yesterday.
“I have heard stories that Fijians are good singers, but I have not seen them sing,” school principal Jenny Mills said.
“We only knew about them as tough and physical rugby players, but today they showed that they are beautiful singers.”
The players took time out with the Year 6 students and signed autographs and donated some rugby balls.
Benjamin Jack received a ball from skipper Jerry Tuwai.
“I am so lucky,” he said.
“He is an Olympian and I want to play rugby in the future.
“Fiji is my team but one day I will play for the All Blacks,” Jack said.
