Stepping stone to connect with the Asian tourism market

THE Bula Japan Two-City Roadshow in Osaka and Tokyo attracted more than 60 tourism industry participants to the event hosted by Tourism Fiji.
The three-day roadshow held in Osaka and Tokyo held in the two cities gave Japanese tourists and investors a chance to sample some of the country’s products.
According to Tourism Fiji, the event was a success with 57 trade and three media companies turned up at the Osaka event while Tokyo had 162 participants.
Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Lands and Mineral Resources Faiyaz Koya said the roadshows in Japan were another stepping stone for the industry to connect with the Asian market.
“These Roadshows are a great opportunity to create more awareness on the destination and Fiji Airways’ service through this new route,” he said.
“The Fijian Government, through our marketing arm, Tourism Fiji, has already begun working on a marketing strategy that would work well for the Japanese market.
“Aviareps, was recently appointed as the Tourism Fiji representative in Japan and through them, Fiji will be better and more effectively promoted in Japan.”
