The National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) has also received reports from the ground of farmers’ crops being damaged by Severe TC Harold.
However, all other damage assessments will be conducted 24-hours after the category 4 cyclone passes Fiji.
“We have received reports of damaged crops but in regards to initial damage assessment, that’s a deployment that we normally do 24-hours after the tropical cyclone exit Fiji waters,” NDMO director Vasiti Soko said.
“So unless and until the cyclone moves out of Fiji’s water, only then we will be able to conduct our initial damage assessment,” Ms Soko said.
