Despite the adverse weather conditions experienced around the country this morning, Labasa Town remains open as public transportation proceeded operations bringing in members of the public to the town.
Labasa Chamber of Commerce president Satish Kumar said they were surprised at the number of people coming to town this morning to carry out their shopping despite the weather warnings.
Mr Kumar said he had already approached business houses in Labasa to cease operations from midday today.
“I had already spoken to Labasa Savusavu Town special administrator Doreen Robinson who has advised us to close operations by midday today,” he said.
“There has been no directives from yesterday for the seizure of business operations.”
