STC Harold: Flash flood warning for low-lying areas in Rakiraki

A flash flood warning is now in force for low-lying areas, areas adjacent to and downstream of  Rakiraki catchments.

Floodwaters in the Rakiraki town river was rising at 7am today and with the current heavy rain in the district, the water level will increase in the coming hours.

The Fiji Meteorological Service has also issued a flash flood alert for low-lying areas and areas adjacent to small streams of Kubuna catchment that feeds into Tau, Kubuna, Lomawai, Kabisi, Ciriwai and Maro areas.
