THE State has sought time to file a pre-trial conference checklist in a case involving three men who are accused of stealing marijuana plants from the Koro Island Community Police Post last year.
Navitalai Loatuicama, Paula Vura and Apete Turagatani appeared before judge Justice Chamath Morais yesterday charged with one count each of aggravated burglary and theft.
It is alleged that the men entered as trespassers into the Koro Island Community Police Post with intent to commit theft.
It is also alleged that the three men between the same dates, dishonestly appropriated five plants believed to be cannabis sativa, the property of the Fiji Police Force.
State lawyer Eoghan Samisoni told the court that the prosecution was supposed to serve the final voir-dire disclosures to the defence.
The trial date has been fixed for May 4, 2020.
Mr Turagatani is remanded while Mr Loatuicama and Mr Vura are on bail.
The case has been adjourned to January 29, 2020.
