The Nadroga rugby side beat Naitasiri 30-22 in the match of the round of this week’s Skipper Cup competition.

Nadroga scored three tries in the first spell through Ratunaisa Navuma, Taniela Rakuro, and Josaia Cokaibusa while Naitasiri’s lone first half try came from Asiveli Rokoua, while a penalty to Kini Douglas kept the Highlanders in the game at halftime.

Nadroga led 19-10 at halftime.

Nadroga centre Michael Silivale extended the lead to 24-10 with a try in the 45th minute. Naitasiri tried hard and scored two tries through Inoke Ravuiwasa and Tomasi Naduki but two penalties from Jack Volavola sealed the win for the home side.

This is what the Stallions would have needed heading into the Farebrother Challenge against Nadi at Prince Charles Park next week.

Naitasiri will have to go back to the drawing boards as after a near flawless first round, the side has suffered two losses in its last three matches.
