THE stage is set for the country’s premier horse racing event – the 2019 Fiji Times Sabeto Horse Races on Saturday.

Three years running, the event has also seen an increase in corporate support this year, with sponsors pledging their commitment earlier than previous years.

Event creator Kim Beddoes welcomed the response and support from the corporate community.

“Corporates have come together to support our unique community event.

“Horseracing events such as the Sabeto Races used to be held in the 1970s and 1980s here in Nadi and were a great source of fun and community pride,” Beddoes said.

She said the Sabeto Races also hoped to achieve its goals of putting Sabeto on the global map as a place to visit and to spread the message of caring for animals.
